  1 ring - gold with enamelled cameo inscription around the edge and inset with a funerary urn design on porcelain with a glass cover over it - 22 mm. diameter - in original red morocco box with hinged lid and brass hook clasp

  Seal of Cook's coat of arms, which accompanied the original donation, was not itemised in a 1985 conservation report and was listed as missing on shelf list card 26/3/92

  Photograph (b&w.) of the seal of Cook's coat of arms, that accompanied the original donation, held at SPF/Cook, James Capt./Relics and with the ML restoration report. Seal not located since 1985.
  
  Despite historical references to the ring being made of Cook's hair, close examination does not indicate hair is the material used.
