    Sydney Bond Young, bricklayer by trade of Queanbeyan, N.S.W. was 21 years of age when he enlisted in the 12th Reinforcement, 4th Battalion A.I.F. 9th August 1915.
    He later transferred to the 36th Battalion and was a bandsman and stretcher bearer, serving in France and Belgium
