  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

John Radecki (1866-1955), stained glass artist and designer, joined the glassmaking firm F. Ashwin & Company in 1885. When Frederick Ashwin died, Radecki formed a partnership with his brother John Ashwin. The new company, J. Ashwin & Co. was probably formed in 1910. Radecki eventually became the proprietor in 1920. Radecki's work includes windows for several churches in Sydney and New South Wales. John Radecki was the artist for three windows in the State Library of New South Wales, including the window commemorating William Caxton and the first book printed in English, the Recuyell of the Historyes of Troye.
