    Robert Saunderson Hamilton, clerk of Mascot, Sydney, New South Wales embarked at the age of 19 from Sydney, on board HMAT A15 Port Sydney, 5 Nov. 1917. He served in the Australian Army Medical Corps on the hospital ship Karoola 10 Aug. 1916-25 April 1917 when he transferred to the Artillery, 10th Brigade, 39th Battery as a gunner. After training in Egypt and England, he served in France and Belgium 14 Mar. 1918-24 Feb. 1919. He disembarked in Sydney 1 July 1919
