    Herbert Henry Harris, lift controller of Redfern, Sydney, was born in Mudgee, New South Wales and enlisted on 11 Aug. 1915 at the age of 42. He embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A29 Suevic, on 20 Dec.1915 and served with the 55th Battalion, Australian Imperial Forces in France and Belgium. He was promoted to corporal in the Military Police, 1 Sept. 1917 and returned to Australia on the Trasos Montes, 8 Apr. 1919
