  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Alfred Morris, journalist of Randwick, Sydney, New South Wales, was born in Geelong, Victoria and enlisted aged 21 years on 18 Aug. 1914. He embarked from Sydney on board Transport A27 Southern, 23 Sept. 1914. He served as stretcher bearer and Medical Sergeant in the 1st and 12th Light Horse Regiments at Gallipoli and in Egypt, Sinai and Palestine. He was promoted to Sergeant 15 Mar. 1916, returned to Australia on HT Euripides, 22 Jan. 1917 and was discharged 12 July 1917. Alfred Morris later served in World War II, 1941-1945
