    Thomas Denholm Munro, a draughtsman of Malvern, Victoria was born in Argyle, Scotland and enlisted at Prahran, Victoria on 5 May 1916 at the age of 24. He embarked from Melbourne on board HMAT A30 Borda, 20 Oct. 1916 and served with the 6th Field Artillery Brigade in France and Belgium 20 Mar. 1917-13 Aug. 1918, working as a driver with mule teams, taking munitions to firing lines under heavy shell fire, bombs and gas. He was wounded in action in France, 11 Aug. 1918 and returned to Australia on the Nestor, 12 Dec. 1918
