  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Sergeant L. M. Ottway, ironmonger of Marrickville, Sydney, was born in Inverell, New South Wales and enlisted in the A.I.F. aged 21, on 3 Nov. 1915. He embarked on board HMAT A71 Nestor, 9 April 1916 and served with B. Company, 20th Battalion in France and Belgium, 9 May 1916-27 Aug. 1918. He supervised gun training at the Australian Corps School, 6-20 Oct. 1917, was wounded 4 Aug. 1918 and returned to Australia on HT Karoa, 10 May 1919
