    2 human figures - wood - 44 x 15.1 cm and 41.2 x 15.1 cm
  • Scope and Content
    Both figures painted black and wearing a brown lap-lap. The figures show facial and anatomical detail, including hair and beard. Smaller female figure holding a throwing stick over her shoulders. The thumb on the right hand of the male figure has broken off. Originally male figure may have held an object in his right hand. Each figures stands on a carved wooden base which has the marking: 'Allom. 97'.

    "Male and female statues of Aborigines (small).
    These were set up on the stair posts at Crows Nest House, North Shore, and were sold when the rest of the household goods were disposed of circ. 1930".
