  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Phillip L. Harris was editor of "Aussie": the Australian soldiers' magazine", which he began publishing in France in 1918 and produced until April 1919. He published the first civilian issue of this magazine in Sydney in April 1920. Henry Lawson's first contribution to "Aussie" was "Granny's Specs" which appeared in December 1920. The magazine was published until 1931. Phillip L. Harris and Henry Lawson had a personal friendship.

    Bertha Marie Louise Lawson was born in Chaplin Cottage, Charles Street, North Sydney in February 1900.
