Probably the steamship Dupleix, of 1400 tons, which operated between Sydney and Noumea regularly between 1883 and 1888, at which time it was advertised for sale by its owners, the Compagnie des messageries maritimes, in Sydney, (Sydney Morning Herald, 21 April 1888).
Sydney Morning Herald, 2 March 1889, reports refurbishment and re-boilering of the well known ship Dupleix at Mort's Dock, for a new steamship service to New Zealand ports.
This ship was re-named Jubilee in August 1889 and it was proposed to be renamed Klondyke in 1898, although it is unclear if this ever happened.
After 4 years on the New Zealand run, and several incidents, the Jubilee was laid up in 1893 at Snail's bay, offered for sale in 1896, and aparently unused between 1893 and 1898
